October Empties

I know it a total cliché but I honestly can't believe it is November.  In one way I am more than happy because it means Xmas is just around the corner.  As I was unwell for a few months we had to cancel all holidays and now Mike and I are both taking the whole of December off.  4 weeks left to work this year #Whoop.  I've been back at works two weeks now and I am literally dead on my feet-spent the afternoon flat out asleep on the sofa.  I am so glad I had written and scheduled so many posts before I went back because I am not physically able to manage my crazy work schedule and a blog at the moment.

However, this post is actually been written and posted on the same day and covers off my October empties.

Before we focus on the standouts, here are some 30 second thoughts on some of the others.

Trish McEvoy Wild Bluebell Vanilla candle-an amazing smelling candle with great throw-unfortunately left a good inch of wax in the bottom when the wick burnt out

Elemental Herbology Flower Harmonising Water-seemingly discontinued according to the Elemental Herbology website-this 'facial tonic' was nice enough (rosewater mainly) but the packaging was awful.  The spritz was so fine and weak I actually decanted it into another travel sized spray bottle.

L'Oreal Telescopic mascara-very decent drugstore mascara, great for lengthening and smudgeproof.  Horrible packaging, as it's sealed in plastic it was utterly impossible to get in to without breaking a nail.  Even out of the plastic it's ugly.

No7 Beautifully Matte foundation-review here

Elemis Tri Enzyme Resurfacing facial wash and Chantecaille Intense Retinol-review of both here

Lush Ro's Argan Body Conditioner-Just don't get the hype behind this product.  Feel like I am smothering myself in yoghurt.

To be a Standout it has to be literally more or less holy grail.  Here's what made it this month:

Label m texturizing volume spray-So good at adding volume and grit to my fine, flat hair.  Keeps ,y hair in place all day.  I have 6 cans of this stashed in my bathroom.

Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede-One of my all time favourite perfumes, this fragrance is the perfect summer floral.  I pick up mainly the peony and apple and it has good lasting power.  My perfume collection is insane at the moment-I could literally use it to bathe in so have satisfied my cravings for this scent by buying the candle.

Bare Minerals Locked and Coated-The best waterproof mascara topcoat I have tried!  Yes in this day and age mascaras shouldn't smudge but sadly, some do.  This will stop that in it's tracks (unless you're Too Faced Better Than Sex where there is no hope).

L'Oreal Absolute Make Up Remover-Eye and Lip-Currently knocking Garnier soothing 2 in 1 make up remover off it's 'best drugstore eye make up remover' perch, I really like this L'Oreal offering.  It's less greasy than the Garnier and cuts through my lash primer/mascara/waterproof top coat combo with ease.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light-the best setting powder ever.  Well so far. I love love love this setting powder for sweeping over skin as my very last step before facing the world.  It doesn't add any additional colour to my pale skin, just a slight blurring/airbrush instagram effect.  I also like to use this powder to blend out my eyeshadow-it just softens any harsh lines past the crease for a more blended look.
