Rodial Super Acids x-treme pore shrink cleansing pads review

I first read about the Rodial Super Acids X-treme pore shrink cleansing pads over on Zoe's blog and I loved her review and our mutual love of salicylic acid.  The next thing I knew I was on the Space NK website entering my card details.

These are the first 'exfoliating toner' pads I have used since I was a teenager and used those foul smelling Oxy-ten pads on my teenage spots.

The Rodial website says that these can be used to remove make up (Stacey recoils in horror) but I personally do not use them in that way.  Due to the acids in the pre-soaked pad they make a great exfoliating toner after I have double cleansed.  The pads are infused with apple amino acids (which nourish skin by strengthening connective tissue and keep skin smooth and elastic), salicylic acid (a BHA/chemical exfoliant which my skin loves for keep it spot free) and olive oil to soften.

I double cleanse and after completely drying my skin I then go straight in with one of these pads-I sweep it all over my skin then turn it over and repeat again.  I then follow up with a spritz of hydrating toner after a minute or so and then my serum or oil.

I only use these in the evening because I find that they leave a slight residue on the skin and my AM moisturisor doesn't seem to mix well with the ingredients.   But in the evening I have no complaints.

Initially my skin did tingle a little because of the acid content but now I don't have any issues whatsoever.  If you are a new user of chemical exfoliants (doesn't that term just sound horrendous!) or have sensitive skin I would recommend cutting the pad in half, using the pad every other day or spritzing the pad with water to slightly dilute the ingredients.

I'm now down to my last 2 pads from the 50 in the tub and as for the 'pore shrinking' claims-I am not so sure.  But for day by day clear skin this is another Rodial product that gets a thumbs up from me.
