Miracle workers?

The rise of the Scouse brow and The Only Way Is Essex has had many of us craving strong groomed brows and thick luscious lashes-there are some great ways to achieve this through lash extensions, HD brows and eyebrow tattooing but what about things we can try at home to improve what nature gave us?

There has been a raft of lotions, gels and serums designed to help growth, strength and thickness of both lashes and brows and last September I picked up RapidBrow and RapidLash from Boots to give them a whirl and see if they really do work.

RapidLash and RapidBrow

RapidBrow Eyebrow Enhancing Serum

The blurb....

In 60 days, up to 108% improvement in the appearance of eyebrow density

Visibly fuller looking, thicker looking and less sparse eyebrows

Safe for contact lens wearers, paraben and fragrance free

The magic ingredients....

Hexatein 2 complex-a unique blend of fortifying proteins, stimulating peptides and nourishing ingredients to help condition, restore and repair the appearance of eyebrows.

How to apply....

The serum has a small mascara type wand, you simple run it through your eyebrows twice a day

Rapidbrow

The verdict....

I actually think this works!  I have quite sparse eyebrows due to overplucking in my teenage years and they just never seemed to grow.  After using the serum for a couple of weeks I noticed regrowth in places I hadn't seen for years.  Now don't get me wrong, I don't suddenly have the defined, perfectly arched eyebrows I crave, but I do think this has stimulated regrowth.

The serum is non sticky and it just feels like brushing water through your brows.  It dries quickly and the wand is easy to control.

I would definitely buy this again.  It retails for £37 at Boots so is definitely an investment buy.  There are cheaper alternatives out there so do some research if you like the sound of the product but not the price.

RapidLash Eyelash Enhancing Serum

The blurb....

Fuller looking lashes in as little as 30 days

Up to 50% longer looking lashes

Up to 75% more voluminous looking lashes

Safe for contact lens wearers, paraben and fragrance free

The magic ingredients....

Hexatein 1 complex-a combination of potent peptides, biotin, panthenol, amino acids, soybean oil and pumpkin seed extract designed to boost the appearance of your eyelashes

How to apply....

The serum has a fine nib applicator, a little bit like a liquid eyeliner.  You need to ensure your eye is completely free of any eye make up or creams and then direct the applicator nib from the inner corner of your eyelashes to the outer corner, applying to the base (like you were applying liquid eyeliner).  You only need to apply it once a day before bedtime.

RapidLash

The verdict....

What I like about this is that the nib holds just enough product so you can see it going onto the base of your lashes-several times I poked it in my eye lol but luckily it doesn't sting at all if you do happen to get it in your eye!!  I didn't see such physical results as I did with the eyebrow serum but I would definitely say my outer eyelashes had a nice flick to them which held all day and that my eyelashes are stronger.  I am lucky to have decent eyelashes but this did seem to give a little extra oomph.  I have actually already re-purchased this but I also have another one from Indeed Labs (Peptalash) to try too.  This retails at Boots for £41-yikes I do not remember it being so expensive!!  Having realised that is the price and having fairly good eyelashes I am not sure it makes enough difference to justify the price.  Peptalash is £24.99 so I will let you know I get on with that.

My 'refills' of these products

Both of these products have lasted me 4 months with everyday use-am just coming to the end of them now which I think it also sensible for hygiene reasons-you don't want to mess with your eye area!

Have you tried either of these products?  Do you think they're worth the money?
