Lots of good skincare empties, a much loved lip pencil and a surprise discovery are in my empties for last month so lets crack on.
Sarah Chapman Skinesis Ultimate Cleanse
Loved this thick balmy cleanser but it's super expensive and there are cheaper, just as effective options out there on the market. But the whole cleansing experience with Sarah Chapman is so luxurious-not only does this remove every scrap of make up and daily grime, skin is left soft, bright and clear. I applied to dry skin, massaged, added water and then removed with a damp flannel. I have big love for Sarah Chapman products.
Rodial Bee Venom Cleansing Balm
Very very similar to the Sarah Champan but slightly more 'sticky' in texture and slightly harder to remove. But I also loved this balm cleanser and reviewed it in full recently here.
Paula's Choice Clear Pore Normalizing Cleanser
I found the Paula's Choice Clear Pore Normalizing Cleanser to be a good, basic cleanser that I used in the shower as my morning cleanse. It's refreshing and doesn't strip the skin. Definitely a cleanser to be used on clean skin, rather than a make up removing cleanser-it just isn't heavy duty enough.
Clinique Mild Clarifying Lotion
I'm gutted this exfoliating toner has been discontinued-this is literally my 7th or 8th bottle of it. A brilliant mild chemical exfoliant, I am hoping the one that Clinique has replaced it with is as good!
Elemis Visible Brilliance
This serum was nice but I didn't see any specific improvement in my skin tone or texture. Again I have noticed this has now been discontinued which shows you how long I had it for! But Elemis as a brand-I love!
Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Essence
I love this facial spritz-it's so refreshing for perking you and your skin up during the day. The spritz is a really fine, lightweight mist, doesn't disturb make up and isn't too wet. Expensive but luxurious.
A brilliant, gentle cleansing water-I don't use micellar waters to remove my make up (unless I am on a flight) but I use this to clean up any leftover mascara residue after I have properly cleansed-it does the job amazingly. Cheap and awesome
Nivea Double Effect Eye Make Up Remover
This is what I go in with first to dissolve my eye make up/mascara. This definitely gives products like Lancome Bi Facil a run for their money-the bi phase formula definitely destroys mascara effectively. My favourite drugstore eye make up remover.
The surprise discovery-this primer water is awesome. My preferred way to use it is to either spritz on my face after moisturiser and before using an illuminating cream (like the Charlotte Tilbury below) or to spritz onto a dense foundation brush and use the dampened bristles to get a flawless result.
Deciem Hylamide HA Blur*
Really loved this blurring primer-foundation applied with a beauty blender over the top of this gives a really smoothed, blurred perfected base. You can read my full thoughts on this primer here.
Loved the effect on the lashes that this mascara gave-really dark lashes, lengthened and volumised but there is a big but....it flaked on me constantly to the stage I was getting so paranoid that I had mascara all over my cheeks I had to stop using it. So not an empty but I product I can no longer use.
Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow
If you're worried about the cost of this product let me tell you that it lasts forever and you really only need a small amount to cast a soft focus, pearly golden toned but very subtle veil to the skin. Use this as a primer or mix it with foundation to amp up the glow. A lot of skin illuminating creams are quite cool/pink/silver toned to give the glow but this golden toned fluid works well on all skintones.
Clinique Pep Start eye cream
Bought on a whim at the airport but I really liked this light, refreshing eye cream. I'm not a big fan of these eye creams that come with the ball on the end of the packaging which I think you are meant to use to massage the product into the skin-I always just prefer to use my finger to smooth the product into the skin.
NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in New Lover
Glossy, easy to apply, non sticky hybrid between a lipstick and a gloss-I love these pencils. New Lover is a really pretty pinky coral that is almost duochrome and you can see it in my Lip Six post here
Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Stick in Amethyst
The only shade of Caviar Stick I like from Laura Mercier-I am not a massive fan of this formula compared to other eyeshadow sticks on the market but this is the one that lasts the longest and creases the least-but I use it more as an eyeshadow base-powder eyeshadows stick brilliantly to this kind of formula and really amplify the tone and longevity of any powder or pigment you apply on top.
