Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask review

Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask review

New Zealand brand Antipodes isn't a brand I am really very familiar with-I've tried their Juliet Skin Brightening Gel Cleanser after it was recommended by Caroline Hirons-it was the first ever product I bought on her recommendation and I really liked it.

The Aura Manuka Honey mask was a product I honed in on after spotting a few positive reviews online and I added it to my last birthday list and mummy Fell came good!

The Aura Manuka Honey mask is designed for all skin types but particularly blemish prone skin given that Manuka Honey is a powerful natural antiseptic.  Manuka Honey also draws moisture to the skin to ensure it is plumped and hydrated.

With active ingredients of Manuka Honey, Avocado Oil, Glycerin plus extracts from grape, carrot, pohutukawa flower and Vitamin E the combination is an antibacterial and antioxidising mask whilst not stripping the skin of vital moisture.

This mask also contains no chemical exfoliants like AHA's or BHA's which for me is a positive thing.  My skin is feeling quite 'over acid' treated at the moment as I use a lot of salicylic and glycolic in my routine.  The past couple of weeks my skin has been quite red and tight and irritated.  This mask seemed like a good balancing act.

I've used up about 3/4 of the mask now and the texture is very creamy and cooling on the skin.  Once you have it on it looks like butter on your face and I do find that my skin drinks up about half of the product and the remaining residue is easy to remove with a damp clean flannel.

I haven't noticed any remarkable results but I haven't had any breakouts after using the mask and at the moment that is a huge plus.  My skin certainly feels smooth and plumped after use but this is quite a temporary effect.

I probably wouldn't repurchase this mask as it's not something I love-and there are masks out there that I do so I will save my pennies for them.
