October empties-make up!

Here's my make up empties for October.

Benefit The Fake Up

The hype around this new release concealer earlier this year was insane!  Of course I bought into it, picking up the lightest shade.  This is an extremely hydrating concealer-unsuitable for spots but ok for under the eyes.  It never creased but it doesn't offer a great amount of coverage.  It's very light in texture but I prefer something heavier in coverage.  I also seemed to use it pretty quickly.

Would I repurchase?  No

What have I replaced it with?  The Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer-for a drugstore brand this is incredible!

Nars Pro Prime Pore Refining Primer

I was a little bit disappointed to be honest with this primer.  It's silicone based but doesn't feel like it-it doesn't give skin that velvety 'diffused' finish you get from say Smashbox photofinish primer.  It's quite a 'wet' lightweight texture so you only need a little bit to cover the whole face-having said that it dries very quickly.  By the end of the day I would find my foundation had sunk into my pores around my nose and cheeks.  I am feeling like this is an impossible problem to fix!!  If you like a primer that doesn't have that traditional velvet silicone feel but like the benefits silicone products offer this is worth checking out.

Would I repurchase?  No-still searching for the perfect primer

What have I replaced it with?  The Hourglass Mineral Veil primer.

Maybelline The Falsies

Mascara love!!  This is the first drugstore mascara I have used in a long long time but I loved it!  I did a full review here but this is a great mascara for building volume and length and for lashes that look as good as 8pm as they did at 8am

Would I repurchase?  Yes if I didn't have 20 other mascara's in my drawer patiently waiting to coat my lashes!!

What have I replaced it with?  The Ellis Faas E401 mascara-reviewed here.  I have actually grown to like this mascara a lot more than I initially did!

Issey Miyake L'Eau D'Issey Florale

I have loved Issey Miyake fragrances for years now and this floral version of the original L'Eau D'Issey Miyake was no exception.  Fresh and fruity with mandarin, lily, rose, musk and white wood, the perfect fragrance for daytime.

Would I repurchase?  Yes!

What have I replaced it with?  Take your pick from this perfume collection post

Sally Hanson Double Duty

I have had to bin this polish as it has gone thick and gloopy.  Not much to say, it's a good, fast drying and cheap clear base coat-but don't expect to be able to use the full bottle before it turns.

Would I repurchase?  Yes

What have I replaced it with?  Essie First Base

Anastasia clear brow gel

This was a total 'on a whim' puchase whilst I was queuing at Sephora in Times Square in March and is uh-mazing.  Keeps brows in place all day, isn't crusty, doesn't flake and doesn't get gunky like other brow gels (I cant explain why lol!)...it's the perfect brow gel.

Would I repurchase?  Yes

What have I replaced it with?  Mac Brow Set-It's no where near as good.

Clarins Instant Light Eye Perfecting Base

This is a great primer that no one ever talks about on blogs!  It comes in a twist up wand so you can apply by brushing it straight on the lid and is an amazing base for eyeshadow.  Your eyeshadow will be vibrant and will not move all day and the wand itself lasts absolutely ages.  I bought this one in New York at the end of March because I ran out whilst I was there and I have just finished this one-and I used it every day.  There should be more love out there for this product!!!

Would I repuchase?  Yes!

What have I replaced it with?  Am currently using Mac paint pot in Bare Study.

That's all my make up empties for October-I honestly can't believe November is here!  You can also read my skincare empties for October here
