I'd seen so much blogger hype about the matte Viseart palettes-even though they cost a small fortune they were apparently soooooo worth it. But I didn't splurge because matte is not my jam. I do use matte shadows but only for blending out in the crease to try and make everything look pretty seamless and smooth. However, when these miniature Viseart palettes launched, even though they were an eyewatering $45 each I felt it was the time to splurge.
Normally the cool toned Cashmere palette (top) would have been the obvious choice, but this year I have embraced and am loving warmer toned eyeshadow so I also picked up Minx. The compact size of the palette seemed perfect for travelling and the two palettes together seemed to cover pretty much all eyeshadow needs on a trip.
But alas, I am so disappointed with these eyeshadows-so much so that when I tried Minx and didn't adore it, I can't now be bothered to even try Cashmere and am just going to put it into my next blogsale.
And I am so surprised because I genuinely thought these were going to be amazing. But I found the pigmentation to be poor, patchy and uneven-even over my usual primer, tons and tons of fallout that was a nightmare to clean up and stained under my eyes, the shades just mulched together and it looked a mess when I had finished.
I would definitely choose Urban Decay, Make Up Geek, Violet Voss or Zoeva any day over these eyeshadows-the Viseart palettes just didn't live up to my expectations or the price tag.
