Dior Eye Reviver Eyeshadow Palette review

This is without doubt one of the most beautiful looking palettes I own, inside and out. It was a birthday gift from James my assistant (with a little push in the right direction!)  I love embossing and I think the palette looks so well put together plus it's packaged in a heavy silver mirrored compact-finger print attracting for sure but very luxurious.

Inside is a neutral eye lovers dream combination of colours.  The far left shade is called the 'primer' shade but in reality, as it has the same powder texture as the other 4 shadows it's really a matte cream shadow.  The next shade along is a light camel coloured satin finish shade which works well as an all over the lid neutral. Initially I was a little unimpressed with the pigmentation of this shade when I first used it but actually when all the shadows are on the eye it's a really good base.

The next two colours are for me where the magic happens.  The first is a light taupe with fine shimmer that really opens the eye.  The second is a deeper medium bronze again with shimmer.  I have been blending these two out in the crease along with the camel shade as my lid colour for a wide eyed neutral look. The satin finish dark brown at the end allows for definition in the crease if you want to vamp the look up a bit.

Finally there is a black gel eyeliner. My personal pet hate is palettes that mix powders with creams/gels and I fear with the constant opening and closing of the palette this gel may dry out quickly but I will report back on my findings.

Whilst all the shadows blend very easily there is some fallout from the shades-especially the two shimmers in the middle.  It's easily brushed away with a fluffy brush but worth noting.

Personally for me this is an every day palette for luminous but neutral, subtly defined eyes and I can see me getting a lot of use out of it.  It's not the best ever Dior palette I have tried as the pigmentation is definitely on the more subtle side and needs to be worked at to build up, especially with the lighter shades (FYI my favourite ever Dior palette is the now discontinued 809 Petal Shine, although there was a relaunched very similar version called 156 Femme Fleur)

I'm struggling to find this online in the UK but it is coming!  In Dubai, James bought mine from Woojah in Dubai Mall and it's currently on Nordstrom priced at $67.
